Bumpkin's Ears

After working towards it for multiple weeks, Bumpkin got her ears pierced last week.  Actually, both Bumpkin and Troublemaker were earning pierced ears and Troublemaker earned it sooner than Bumpkin, but Troublemaker backed out when we were getting in the car to go to the store.  She told me she was earning her ears getting pierced so she could do it when she was ten.  haha.  I thought that she might changed her mind at the store and go for it but she didn't, even when Bumpkin didn't  scream or cry. 

When we got to the store there was an older boy getting his ears pierced so was realitively confident he would cause drama and it would be ok to watch.  Her barely flinched which I think really helped Bumpkin feel comfortable.  I took her aside and told her that if she screamed and caused a bunch of drama that there was no way her sister would go through with it.  So she sat real still, held the Claire's bear in one hand and mommy's hand with the other, and didn't make a sound when the earrings went in.  I was so proud of her, but Troublemaker still wasn't convinced.  She is now saying she wants to do it when she is six, not ten.

Here is Bumpkin with her new jewels.  She is so happy to have them and has been doing very well at helping remind mommy to clean them.  She is even twisting them on her own.
