A couple weeks ago we went to Nana's 80th birthday party and made a trip of it. We got a hotel in Omaha and had some fun in the way. The girls loved swimming in the hotel pool. Mimi was a little scared at first but got over it. Now she has no fear in the bathtub which actually scares her mama even more.
When we finally got out of the water we went to Cabela's to look around. The girls loved the giant fish tank.
Finally we went to the zoo. We took the girls to their first IMax movie. They were impressed and convinced us to take them to another one at the end of the day. My favorite day was the gorillas. They were in a playful mood. There was one that would just sit there and when he finally had an audience he would slap the glass and make everyone jump. It was funny. It also made me think of the time a gorilla did the same thing to Troublemaker when she was younger. His hand hit the window right at her face and she didn't even jump, she laughed. Explains why she still isn't scared and had a stare off with this guy!

Halloween
I just realized I never posted Halloween pictures. Our neighborhood is awesome for trick-or-treating. We have tons of kids and everyone gets into it. So we had some friends over and went as a large group. Bumpkin was Pinkie Pie. Troublemaker was Rainbow Dash. And Mimi was a circus monkey. We had a blast!
Mimi wasn't sure about everything at first but a block or two in she realized she was getting candy and was fine after that. Go figure!
Troublemaker, Mimi, and I also went trick-or-treating at a nursing home with our MOPS group.

Miss nickname
Recently, I have been calling Mimi the wrong nickname. Like on a daily basis. While Troublemaker earned her nickname by being a daredevil Mimi could honestly wear it well too. But hers is more for actually trouble. She needs to always be in view. She climbs on the tables to dance, loves stealing binkies (even though she never used one), hits babies and other kids, and generally gets into it.
Last night I wasn't sure where she was and went looking. I found her in the bathroom rolling toilet paper directly off the roll into the toilet. She wasn't wasting time by ripping it off first. When she saw me she said "wa-ohh" and went running. Trouble I tell you!

Pumpkin Smash
Since I finally caught up on the here and now I will go back a little ways. The day after Halloween the girls and I went to a Pumpkin Smash festival. There were all kinds of ways to destroy the pumpkins the business had left over. The girls bowled will them, throw them in trash cans, slingshot them across a field, played basketball, and their personal favorites of hitting them with giant hammers. Watching Bumpkin and Troublemaker tried to swing the hammer was quite a show.
They also had the typical pumpkin patch things open like a corn maze, slides, corn pit, and a giant air trampoline.

Adjustment prediction
I have this hunch that Mimi isn't going to adjust well to having a new baby. I don't remember thinking the same with Bumpkin adjusting to Troublemaker. I don't have any particular reason and I would be pleasantly surprised to be wrong, but it is little things that make me think it.
I have Mimi her milk before nap today and then continued to clean the kitchen. After a minute I realized I hadn't heard from her so I went to investigate. This is where I found her.

Promises
Quite frequently the girls ask to cuddle while trying to fall asleep. Then after we cuddle they ask again. It has become a regular thing to tell them that if they are quiet for five minutes we will come back and cuddle again. Well that happened last night and like usual the girls feel asleep so we didn't cuddle again. But Troublemaker woke up around 3:30 and started screaming for me. I went in there and she called me out for not cuddling earlier. I told her I came in to cuddle but she was asleep. She thought for a minute and replied, "In Sophie the 1st her mom says that once a promise is broken it can't be glued back together".
Lesson learned.

Baby Beluga
We call Mimi Baby Beluga right now. She will still be Mimi on here because I am sure one day she will not allow us to call her a whale anymore but I love the nickname. We have a song that goes with it and everything. She will dance along and it is great fun.
But Baby Beluga won't really be a baby much longer. She is starting to mimic words we say and follow directions.... When she so chooses that is. One of her most recent things that makes me laugh every time I think about it is bed/naptime during Christmas break. I had never had a problem getting her to lay down before but she was fighting me and screaming for a LONG time. It took about three days it figure out it was her big sisters being home and not having to take a nap that was her issue. She could hear them and thought it was unfair. Finally, on the forth day I made her sisters go to their room and she kissed them goodnight like she does at bedtime. She then went into her room and laid down with little fuss. Silly baby beluga! So now, the big girls and I read a book during naptime each day until she is asleep. Makes me a tad worried if she already has issues being left out.
She is also practicing dressing/undressing herself. Playing the leapster and iPad. And doing gymnastics and dance moves with her big sisters.

Shanty Town
Daddy and I got this idea on New Years Eve. We had some extra large boxes hanging out in the garage and made this house. It has been pulled apart, kicked apart, and literally knocked over but it has provided hours of entertainment and many storylines.
